Hong Kong Arbitration Judgements and Commentaries – Applications of the UNCITRAL Model Law and the provisions of the Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance (Cap 609)

Samuel Wong has published a new arbitration title (as co-author with CK Kwong JP) — “Hong Kong Arbitration Judgements and Commentaries – Applications of the UNCITRAL Model Law and the provisions of the Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance (Cap 609)”.

With a foreword by Mr Justice Kemal Bokhary NPJ (Non-Permanent Judge, Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal), this book analyses the application of the UNCITRAL Model Law provisions as adopted in the Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance (Cap.609). It covers the entire arbitral process from start to finish, including an overall introduction, arbitrability, validity of arbitration agreements, stay of court proceedings in favour of arbitration, supervisory and supportive role of the court in arbitration, setting aside of awards, and recognition and enforcement of awards.

Samuel has also recently presented his new book as a token of gratitude to the Right Honourable the Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury (Non-Permanent Judge, Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal) at a dinner sharing with members of the City University of Hong Kong, where Samuel holds a position as an Adjunct Professor.

Inquiries concerning the availability of the book may be made with the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators.
