Pupillage

18LC aims to foster exceptional talent and promotes professionalism, collegiality, and diversity amongst pupils. Our goal is directed towards supporting pupils to acquire skillsets and build awareness of barristers’ distinctive competencies, enabling pupil barristers to flourish over time and contribute to the legal profession in Hong Kong and beyond. Pupils may be expected to be integrated to Chambers’ work and life, and will be invited to Chambers’ professional and social events.

Applications

All applications for pupillage at 18LC should be submitted to the Pupillage Committee by email to Applications@18LC.com. An application should comprise of at least a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and a reference letter. An applicant may also submit such other materials as deemed necessary. The overriding consideration is merit, with particular emphasis on the applicant’s academic and professional achievements, mooting and mock trial experiences, and professional integrity.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview and assessment with the Pupillage Committee. They are expected to take place between November and January, with decisions made within 2 weeks thereafter.

Deadline

Applications should be submitted no later than 31 December of the prior year of commencement of pupillage. Late applications will only be considered on an exceptional basis.
